Iverson to the Pistons

The Answer is more like The Question now as the Denver Nuggets have canceled the Meloverson Experiment in an attempt to broaden themselves in the Western Conference. In return they'll be gaining Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyse. Very interesting trade to say the least, and upon first hearing it I thought it was a joke. After confirmation I tried to figure it out. Both sides are kinda questionable to be honest, but Detroit gains a bit more with Iverson on the last year of his contract.

What does that mean? Well, a few things. Detroit has a year with AI to see how things go, and if they don't go well then he's out of a contract and a free agent. AI as a free agent? Interesting eh? Secondly, it means that Detroit is freeing up cap room. Could they be making space for a Lebron James sized contract?

Makes you wonder.

Denver gains a veteran, natural, point guard in Billups. I like Chauncey in that lineup much more than AI. He will bring a swagger much different than AI and a big boost on the defensive end of the court. McDyse, should he end up playing in Denver (word is he refuses to play outside of the Detroit), he'll give the Nugs a rugged big man to play along side Nene.

The West seems to get better, and the East welcomes back AI.

And the season is just beginning.
